Relationship Development Intervention®
Humans operate under two operating systems: the static operating system and the dynamic operating system. RDI® is a development based approach focused on re-framing the parent-child relationship to promote healthy brain development and increase the child's utilization of dynamic thinking. Children on the autism spectrum often view the dynamic world as chaotic, which can lead to frustration, confusion, and engagement of maladaptive behaviors. With a re-introduction to the dynamic world, children with ASD are afforded greater opportunity to succeed across a variety of life circumstances and settings.
"The missing element."
Parent Focused
Through the "guiding process," parents have the power to influence their child to succeed in the development of dynamic intelligence. Parents and caregivers will learn to capitalize on their role as primary architect of their child's neural development and lead their child toward feelings of competence, independence, and proficiency.
Experience Based
Co-regulation establishes a shared focus of attention with our communication partner. RDI® teaches parents to guide their child to cultivate meaningful relationships by seeking and sharing thoughts, opinions, and emotions.
Growth Activating
RDI® leads children to confidently engage in challenges at their edge of competence. Through RDI®, parents and caregivers can provide learning opportunities for their child which stretch thinking and promote healthy problem solving skills.
